Project Manager – Design-Build Construction
Lead projects most construction managers never get access to.
If you're a Project Manager who enjoys being close to the work—not just sitting behind a desk managing spreadsheets—this role will feel very different from the typical construction PM position.
At Enerstrux, we design, manufacture, and install proprietary automated systems for the post-harvest and fresh produce industry. Our projects support some of the largest grocery chains and food distribution networks in North America and around the world.
This is a hands-on, field-driven role where you will be involved in everything from fabrication through on-site construction and commissioning.
We’re looking for someone who can lead complex projects end-to-end, work closely with trades in the field, and take ownership of delivering technically unique systems that don’t exist anywhere else in the industry.
Why choose Enerstrux
Most project management roles look the same on paper.
Schedules. Budgets. Meetings. Reports.
At Enerstrux, those things matter—but they are only part of the job.
You’ll be close to the actual build
You won’t be removed from the work. You’ll be involved in fabrication, installation, and commissioning—seeing projects come to life from the inside out.
You’ll work on highly specialized systems
Our work blends construction, mechanical systems, electrical components, refrigeration, and automation into integrated solutions. Every project is different, and every job requires real problem-solving.
You’ll have real ownership
You’ll be responsible for delivering projects from concept through commissioning, including coordinating trades, resolving site issues, and ensuring systems perform as designed.
You’ll work with a team that values execution
We are built on honesty, accountability, and follow-through. We value people who take responsibility, communicate clearly, and deliver results without excuses.
What you’ll be doing
As a Project Manager, you will lead the full lifecycle of design-build projects, including both office and field responsibilities.
Your responsibilities include:
- Managing projects from concept through commissioning
- Leading on-site construction activities and coordinating trades and subcontractors
- Overseeing installation, start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting of systems
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure full understanding
- Maintaining project schedules and driving timely delivery
- Preparing site reports and managing field operations
- Coordinating labour, materials, equipment, and logistics
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
- Supporting fabrication and assembly activities at the Enerstrux/MTX facility
- Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and performance standards
What we’re looking for
We’re not looking for someone who only manages from a distance.
We’re looking for someone who understands how things are built—and isn’t afraid to be on site when needed.
- 10+ years of project management experience in construction or a related industry
- Degree or trade background (engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience)
- Strong ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience working directly with trades in field environments
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving project environment
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a hands-on approach
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to project sites
What you can expect from Enerstrux
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- Benefits package
- Significant opportunity for growth in a specialized, expanding company
- Exposure to unique, technically advanced design-build projects
- A mix of field and office work—no two weeks look the same
- Direct involvement in commissioning and system performance
- A team culture built on accountability, respect, and execution
