We are currently recruiting for a Personal Support Worker for a male employer residing in central North Shore, who requires support with complex care and all activities of daily living.
The ideal candidate would be a team player, that is confident and able to learn a routine, with ability to adapt, collaborate and improvise. They take direction well and are capable of carrying out tasks unsupervised and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
The employer is steady, personable and a hard-working individual that enjoys privacy at times.
As an active member of his community, the ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting him to go to all work and social events. Willingness and availability to go on trips with the employer is also an essential part of this position.
In his spare time, the employer enjoys listening to music, cooking and all things outdoors.
Shift & Hours:
- Wednesday and Sunday
- 24 hour shifts starting at 10am
- 1 caregiver to work both shifts is preferred
Location:
- Kamloops (Near Central North Shore)
Rate:
- $500 flat rate for 24-hour shift
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assistance with all activities of daily living such as dressing assistance, showering, washroom care and personal hygiene
- Respiratory care (training provided)
- Meal preparation and feeding
- Light housekeeping
- Transfers using a ceiling lift
- Assisting the employer with errands
- Support the employer in the community daily as he has a very active lifestyle
- Few intervention at night (the employer sleeps approx. 6-8 hours without interruption)
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience (with adult clients) required
- Registered Health Care Aide is strongly preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with complex personal care is required
- Experience providing eating assistance to adult individuals with complex care needs is required
- Experience with slings and transfers are preferred
- Great work ethic and sense of humor preferred
- Must be fully vaccinated or willing to get vaccinated
- Class 5 Driver’s License is required and must be comfortable driving the employer's van
- Willing to go on trips with the employer is required
