Our client, a publicly traded, mid-sized international organization is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This individual will have a strong background in financial reporting, compliance, and accounting best practices within a mid-sized public company environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting audits, and contributing to the overall efficiency and integrity of the financial operations.

This position reports to the Manager of Finance and is based in Kelowna, BC.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, revenue, and inventory accounting within a high-growth public company.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
· Assist and eventually lead drafting of financial statements, MD&A, and press releases
· Ensure compliance with IFRS and public company disclosure requirements
Revenue & Analysis
· Perform month-end revenue reconciliation to internal inventory tracking and subledger
· Analyze trends and deliver insights to management and the Board
Inventory and Biological Assets
· Develop expertise in cannabis inventory accounting and fair value adjustments
· Interpret inventory models and communicate financial impacts (“tell the story”) clearly
· Review reports from the Inventory lead and from facilities personnel
Process Improvement
· Identify inefficiencies and implement automation or process enhancements
· Take lead and work directly with operations and other finance team members to overhaul processes based on your judgement
Business Understanding
· Do more than just book entries and develop financials: identify revenue and cost trends within your work areas to drive savings and identify key areas of growth
· Gain exposure beyond accounting - understand operations, product, and growth drivers
Audit & Compliance
· Support annual audit processes
· Respond to auditor requests in your assigned areas
Qualifications
· 3+ years of public accounting experience (Big 4, national, or large regional firm)
· Experience with IFRS and publicly traded companies
· Financial reporting and disclosure experience
· Experience with consolidations and multi-entity structures
· Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, lookup functions, data analysis)
· CPA designation (or actively pursuing completion)
· Strong analytical mindset with the ability to simplify complex issues

Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
