Job Summary

We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist or Asisstant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations with efficiency and a friendly demeanor. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental and medical terminology, and experience with electronic dental records systems such as Abeldent Local+. The Dental Receptionist or Assistant will play a vital part in ensuring smooth office operations, scheduling appointments, and providing exceptional patient service.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out procedures at the front desk
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Abeldent Software
Answer phone systems professionally and assist with patient inquiries
Verify insurance information and process billing
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Collect payments, co-pays, and handle billing procedures efficiently
Prepare and manage patient correspondence, including appointment reminders and follow-up communications
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies as well as direct deposits to the dentist
Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth daily operations
Assist the dentist with patient appointments and procedures
Sterilize instruments and bag them according IPAC requirements
Tear down and clean rooms to get ready for next patient
Keep inventory of supplies and place orders for office

Qualifications

Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a dental or medical office setting preferred but willing to train the right person
Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Abeldent is preferred but willing to train
Knowledge of medical/dental terminology or some understanding
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle busy phone systems efficiently while maintaining professionalism
Exceptional customer service skills and a friendly demeanor
Office experience in a fast-paced environment is highly desirable
Familiarity with front desk operations, administrative procedures, and basic billing processes

This role offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to providing outstanding patient care.

Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
