InnovOak School is seeking an exceptional Kindergarten HomeForm Teacher to join our growing team.
This position is being created as a result of continued enrolment growth and is expected to begin in September 2026.
The successful candidate will lead a Junior Kindergarten/Senior Kindergarten HomeForm and become part of a collaborative Kindergarten team committed to delivering one of the region's strongest early years programs.
For some candidates, this opportunity will include establishing a new classroom by designing the learning environment, selecting a classroom theme, organizing resources, and building a positive classroom culture before students arrive in September.

Our Kindergarten program combines structured, evidence-based instruction with purposeful play, inquiry, and individual student coaching. Students are explicitly taught using Heggerty, UFLI, Singapore Math, and other research-based instructional practices. Our goal is for students to leave Senior Kindergarten reading, writing, and demonstrating mathematical understanding at or beyond Ontario Grade 1 expectations while remaining developmentally appropriate in both instruction and classroom experience.
Teachers are supported by the Ontario curriculum, Cambridge International Curriculum frameworks, and a collaborative Kindergarten team committed to continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will:

Serve as the HomeForm teacher for a Junior Kindergarten/Senior Kindergarten classroom.

Deliver daily instruction using Heggerty phonological awareness, UFLI structured literacy, Singapore Math, and other evidence-based instructional practices.

Prepare students to achieve reading, writing, and mathematics outcomes at or beyond Ontario Grade 1 expectations by the end of Senior Kindergarten.

Create a welcoming, organized, and structured classroom with clear routines and high expectations.

Build strong relationships with students and families.

Conduct regular teacher-student learning conversations that celebrate growth and support individual development.

Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs while maintaining high expectations.

Foster independence, confidence, responsibility, resilience, and positive learning habits.

Create engaging learning experiences through direct instruction, purposeful play, inquiry, centres, and hands-on learning.

Assess student learning using a variety of strategies and communicate progress regularly with families.

Collaborate with Kindergarten colleagues to strengthen curriculum, instruction, and student achievement.

Contribute positively to the broader life of the school.

Ontario College of Teachers certification or eligibility for certification is strongly preferred.

This position would align to a public-school Grade 1 classroom, so that experience is preferred

Applications from both experienced teachers and exceptional new graduates are encouraged.

Bachelor of Education preferred.

Early Childhood Educators with significant classroom teaching experience will also be considered.

Strong understanding of early literacy, numeracy, and child development.

Experience with Heggerty, UFLI, Singapore Math, structured literacy, or evidence-based early years instruction is considered an asset.

Experience with Cambridge curriculum, independent schools, or enriched academic programming is considered an asset.
