The Central Alberta REALTORS® Association (CARA) is a professional real estate association representing over 650 licensed real estate professionals across Central Alberta. Since 1957, CARA has supported its members through advocacy, professional standards, education, and industry leadership while serving the communities of Central Alberta with integrity and expertise.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

CARA is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator to join our on-site team in Red Deer. This role is responsible for all aspects of bookkeeping, payroll administration, financial reconciliation, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with QuickBooks and PayWorks, along with expertise in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing, and financial record management.

KEY REPONSIBILITIES:

Bookkeeping & Financial Administration.

Record and reconcile financial transactions, bank accounts, and credit cards.
Manage accounts receivable/payable, invoices, payments, and general ledger accounts.
Prepare financial statements and cash flow reports.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Payroll Administration

Process payroll accurately and in compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
Maintain payroll records, employee files, and remittances.
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and administer deductions and taxes.

Reconciliation, Reporting & Compliance

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
Prepare tax remittances and assist with annual tax filings.
Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, audits, and management reporting.

Administrative Support

Maintain organised records and respond to internal financial inquiries.
Provide administrative and audit support as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years’ experience in bookkeeping, payroll administration, or a similar role.
CPB Certification is an asset.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll, and tax regulations.
Proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and payroll systems, ideally PayWorks.
Excellent organisational, communication, and confidentiality skills.
