Accounting AssistantSummary
Car West Auto Sales is seeking a proactive, organized, and detail-driven Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts receivable functions, processing payments, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining precise financial records. This role will directly support the financial success and efficiency of our operations while providing exceptional service to our valued clients.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process and record incoming payments in the accounting system.
- Regularly monitor accounts receivable aging reports.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients to resolve payment issues and discrepancies.
- Utilize the PBS Dealer Management System to manage client accounts and transactions effectively.
- Conduct accurate data entry for invoices and payments, ensuring data integrity.
- Assist in analyzing financial information to help forecast cash flow requirements.
- Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions and client communications.
- Perform timely reconciliation of bank statements with internal records, swiftly resolving any discrepancies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills, including professional phone etiquette and written communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- High proficiency in accurate data entry.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines efficiently.
- Experience with the PBS Dealer Management System (Accounting) is strongly preferred. Candidates with hands-on PBS Accounting experience will receive priority consideration and have a significantly higher chance of being selected for an interview. Experience with other automotive dealer management systems, such as CDK or Reynolds and Reynolds, is also valued and is considered a strong asset.
- A thorough understanding of the automotive industry is considered an asset.
- Comprehensive understanding of general accounting principles and accounts receivable best practices.
- Demonstrated analytical ability to identify financial discrepancies or trends.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in administration, accounting, or bookkeeping is considered an asset.
- At least one year of experience in a front desk or administrative role is preferred.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Ability to reliably commute to Leduc, AB, or relocate prior to starting employment.
