FAIM is a growing organization supporting adults with developmental disabilities in the communities of Airdrie, Okotoks, High River, and Strathmore. We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Community Support Workers to join our team.
As a Community Support Worker, you will provide encouragement, guidance, mentoring, and hands-on support to adults as they participate in employment, volunteer opportunities, recreational activities, and community life. Every day is different, and every day provides an opportunity to help individuals build confidence, develop skills, increase independence, and achieve personal goals.

Applicants are expected to apply to the location they are prepared to commit to, as internal transfers between locations are not considered within the first six (6) months of employment.
Schedule
Typical program hours are Monday to Friday, approximately 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Staff are generally scheduled for six-hour shifts during this time, including paid lunch periods, and remain responsible for supporting clients throughout the program day.
Occasionally, client programming, supported employment placements, staff meetings, or training sessions may occur outside of regular program hours.
What You'll Do
Community Support Workers support individuals in a variety of employment, volunteer, recreational, and community settings.
Examples may include:
- Recycling routes
- Newspaper and flyer delivery
- Janitorial services
- Landscaping projects
- Lunch programs
- Laundry services
- Supporting individuals with recreational and fitness activities, including swimming and aquatic programs
- Volunteer opportunities
The focus of this role is helping individuals develop skills, foster independence, build meaningful connections, and participate fully in their communities.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Grade 12 Diploma or GED
- Experience in human services, disability support, rehabilitation, or a related field is considered an asset
- Valid Driver's License
- Access to a reliable vehicle for work purposes
- Cell phone for work-related communication
- Access to a computer and internet
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Physical Requirements
This position involves active community-based work and may include:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Lifting and carrying materials
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Navigating stairs and uneven terrain
- Supporting individuals with recreational and fitness activities
- Assisting with personal care and hygiene, when required
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidates must meet FAIM's employment requirements, including satisfactory criminal record screening, a driver's abstract, appropriate automobile insurance for transporting clients, and other position-related documentation.
