Why We’re More Than Trailers
For 45 years, Southland Trailers has been building more than trailers — we’ve been building a company where people come first. Today, we’re one of Canada’s largest trailer manufacturers with 560+ team members and a simple operating philosophy: people first, processes second, products third.
We believe in hard work, open communication, a positive attitude, continuous improvement, and leading with humility and respect. Using LEAN manufacturing and modern technology, we design and build high-quality trailers while constantly finding better ways to work.
At Southland, you’ll find a collaborative, hands-on environment where ideas are welcomed, initiative is valued, and your work makes a real impact.
If you’re driven, curious, and want to grow with a company that’s going places — you’ll fit right in.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in logistics, shipping, yard coordination, production, transportation, or a similar fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to catch incorrect VINs/serial numbers, ship dates, trailer types, stacking requests, and missing information before they create delays.
- Comfortable using systems to review order details, trailer information, ship dates, load details, and yard-facing data; experience with Intuitive or another ERP/logistics system is an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Teams, and Outlook for tracking, reporting, communication, updates, and escalations.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to keep Logistics, Yard, Production, and carriers aligned.
- Strong sense of urgency, follow-through, and problem-solving when information is incorrect, incomplete, or causing delays.
- Ability to stay calm, organized, and focused when priorities shift, loads change, carriers reschedule, or the yard is under pressure.
- Confidence to challenge inaccurate information, stop incomplete load details from moving forward, and escalate concerns when needed.
- Knowledge of trailer types, product differences, yard flow, shipping processes, or load planning is an asset.
- A team-focused mindset and willingness to support smooth daily operations across departments.
What You’ll Do:
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to catch errors before they create operational issues.
- Experience working with logistics, shipping, yard coordination, production, or transportation information.
- Confidence using systems to review order, trailer, ship date, and load details.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear updates, corrections, and escalations.
- The ability to stay organized when priorities shift, loads change, carriers reschedule, or drivers are waiting.
- A strong sense of urgency when incorrect or missing information could delay the yard.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to identify patterns in recurring errors.
- Strong follow-through and the ability to track issues until they are corrected.
- The confidence to challenge inaccurate information and escalate concerns when needed.
- A team-focused mindset and the ability to work well with Logistics, Yard, and carrier contacts.
