Position Overview
MANTL is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our growing engineering team.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience across multiple disciplines including engineering design, manufacturing support, quality systems, product development, and technical applications. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced professionals throughout the organization and play an active role in bringing products from concept through manufacturing and customer application.
This is an on-site position based in Lloydminster, Alberta. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between the engineering office and manufacturing floor, working directly with machinists, assemblers, inspectors, technicians, and leadership to solve real-world challenges.
This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys hands-on problem solving, continuous learning, and contributing to a growing manufacturing organization.
What You'll Do
Engineering Design & Product Development
- Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs), specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Support product improvements, new product development, and engineering change initiatives.
- Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
- Maintain engineering records and document control systems.
Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
- Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel.
- Assist with troubleshooting production issues and improving manufacturing processes.
- Work with operations teams to improve efficiency, quality, and product consistency.
- Support development of work instructions, fixtures, and manufacturing documentation.
Quality & Technical Support
- Support inspection activities, quality documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
- Assist with technical reports, product documentation, and customer support requests.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, sales, and service teams to ensure successful product delivery.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Engineering Design & Drafting Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 1 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering design, quality, industrial equipment, or product development is considered an asset.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
- Understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing principles.
- Ability to create detailed manufacturing drawings and assemblies.
- Familiarity with machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems is considered an asset.
Preferred Assets
- Experience with industrial equipment, pumps, rotating equipment, hydraulics, or oilfield equipment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping.
- Experience with Progressing Cavity Pump (PCP) systems is considered a strong asset but is not required.

Compensation: $75,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
