Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: Lloydminster, AB/SK
Company: Viking Strength Gym
Position Type: Full-Time, In-Person
The Mission
Your mission is to maximize the performance, profitability, and culture of Viking Strength Gym by removing operational drag from ownership, relentlessly protecting revenue loops, and ensuring our facility and staff standards are executed flawlessly every day. We are not looking for a passive desk administrator who checks boxes and waits for direction. We are looking for a high-performing, fitness-minded operational leader who takes true ownership of the facility, sees an operational gap, and aggressively steps in to solve it before being asked. You will be the execution engine that keeps our community thriving and our business running like a machine.
Who You Are
- Fitness-Minded: You live the lifestyle. You understand the dedication, culture, and mindset of a high-performance strength facility, and you take pride in representing that brand.
- Growth-Oriented: You aren’t looking for a comfortable placeholder job; you want a launching pad where your success is tied directly to the growth of the business.
- Process-Driven: You have an immaculate eye for detail. You love checklists, metrics, and standard operating procedures, and you have the confidence to firmly hold staff and members accountable to them without causing unnecessary friction.
- Hyper-Autonomous: You thrive in an environment where you are given an outcome, trusted to run with it, and evaluated based on your results.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial & Membership Operations
- Complete ownership of the membership subscription engine and accounts receivable (AR).
- Monitor billing loops, handle failed payments, track delinquency reports, and aggressively but professionally chase down past-due accounts.
- Maximize member retention through proactive outreach, tracking engagement metrics, and onboarding new members seamlessly.
2. Facility Quality Control & Standards
- Keep the facility in immaculate, premium condition. You will audit the gym floor daily to enforce absolute standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization.
- Establish and audit strict daily, weekly, and monthly checklists for front-desk staff and trainers to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
3. Logistics & Vendor Management
- Own the gym’s supply chain: manage and optimize inventory levels for supplements, apparel, merchandise, and facility supplies.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules for all gym hardware and equipment, managing relationships with external mechanics and vendors to eliminate downtime.
4. Front-Line Team Leadership
- Manage, schedule, and lead the front-desk staff, ensuring they deliver a positive, high-energy, and premium experience to every person who walks through the door.
- Help prepare and execute staff performance metrics, identifying operational bottlenecks and implementing continuous improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in business operations, retail management, hospitality management, or a high-volume administrative role (experience in financial tracking, quality control, or collections is a massive asset).
- Deep alignment with the fitness/strength community; you understand the unique needs and culture of a premier gym environment.
- Proven track record of high autonomy, experience building or improving operational processes without constant managerial supervision.
- Tech-savvy: Comfortable mastering company-specific management software, digital scheduling tools, and automated billing platforms.
- Exceptional communication skills, the ability to be warm, positive, and customer-facing, while remaining firm and unyielding on business standards and accounts receivable.
What We Offer
- A high-performance, positive, and motivating environment surrounded by people dedicated to continuous self-improvement.
- Direct mentorship under business ownership with a clear, custom path for personal and professional growth.
- A career where your drive and initiative are recognized, valued, and rewarded, not just a clock-in, clock-out job.
