We're looking for a Campaign Coordinator to support Western's United Way campaign!
Dates: August 24, 2026 - December 16, 2026.
The program is immersive, collaborative, challenging and positive. It is a full-time dedicated position lasting approximately 15 weeks. The Coordinator experience a unique fast-track professional development opportunity to enhance skills in facilitation, training, public speaking, project management, community development and fundraising, while contributing to Western's campaign which will create lasting change in our community!
What you'll do:
- provide support to Western's United Way co-chairs, by assisting with campaign planning, developing campaign materials
- promote the campaign through social media, training sessions, presentations, and individual meetings
- prepare, coordinate and participate in United Way fundraising initiatives
- attend virtual and in-person (where applicable) events, meetings and presentations
- monitor and track progress, provide feedback, collect data, and complete final reports
The Ideal Candidate Will (or be actively looking to learn to):
- have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and motivate others
- be a collaborative team player, with the ability to work with a diverse group including: community members (including those with lived experience), workplace ambassadors and management
- possess strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities
- demonstrate effective verbal and written communication abilities
- maintain a creative and solution-focused problem solving approach and a growth mind-set
- have some experience with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting software (Zoom and TEAMs)
- be community-minded, interested in local issues and local solutions
Training available through the United Way:
- 60 hours of intensive training, with team building and skills development from specialists in fundraising, communications, and customer service including:
- insights into community issues and solutions
- fundraising basics
- facilitation, sales techniques, and customer service
- public speaking and presentations
- use of data software for data tracking, collection, and analysis
