The base salary will be $76,490 - $109,190 per annum. Starting salary will be aligned with the successful candidate’s experience, skills, and demonstrated qualifications.

About Us

The Student Support & Case Management department helps students who are experiencing complex challenges. We support students in navigating resources and making informed decisions, while facilitating a coordinated response at both the individual and community level.

Responsibilities

The Student Support Case Manager works with a broad spectrum of campus and community partners to lead a collaborative process between a student and other concerned parties, with the intention of improving the student's academic and personal outcomes. This role will coordinate and address the needs of students who have experienced difficulty, in order to promote continuity in a coordinated response. This process may include intake and assessment, planning, linking to on/off-campus supports, monitoring, and advocacy as students navigate campus and community systems. The Student Support Case Manager has accountability for providing case management and planning to identified students, and to support them as they progress through University and community support systems and processes towards a successful outcome.

Qualifications

Education:

Master’s degree in, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or a closely related field
Current professional licensure in professional field of certification preferred

Experience:

5 years of experience working in a post-secondary setting providing support to students in distress and managing complex cases, including students navigating mental health challenges

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge and competence with Case Management theory and practice is required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
Possesses a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative
Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple conflicting priorities in a fast- paced environment with frequent interruptions
Ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities
Self-driven, independent thinker who is highly motivated and possesses an intrinsic passion for quality
High degree of professionalism with outstanding ability to work effectively and efficiently with internal and external clients at all levels of management
Creative problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment, especially regarding confidential/sensitive matters
Demonstrated ability to apply creativity, innovation and resourcefulness to daily work
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
Ability to make decisions and recommendations that are clearly linked to the organization's strategy and goals
Ability to handle details with a high degree of accuracy and to organize and prioritize a high volume of work to meet deadlines
Ability to identify and respond to contentious or politically sensitive issues with discretion
Ability to provide guidance to assist others in solving complex problems
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Capacity to handle risk and uncertainty, while being decisive in ambiguous situations
