About the Role
As our Production & Shipping Assistant, you'll play an essential role in ensuring every order leaves our facility accurately packaged and ready for our customers.
Approximately 40% of your time will be spent preparing completed orders for shipment. Before anything leaves our shop, you'll carefully review each order against the invoice, confirming that products, colours, quantities and other details are correct and that the finished signs meet our quality standards.
The remainder of your time will be spent supporting our production team by assisting with the finishing and assembly of signs, organizing materials, receiving supplier shipments and helping maintain an efficient, organized workspace.
Every member of our team contributes to our success, and we're looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively and takes ownership of their work.
Responsibilities:
Shipping & Quality Control
- Carefully inspect completed orders before shipment to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Verify products, colours, quantities and other order details against invoices and paperwork.
- Prepare orders for shipment using appropriate packaging methods.
- Compare courier options and select the most suitable shipping method.
- Generate shipping labels and shipping documentation.
- Prepare envelopes for regular mail orders, including sealing, postage and mailing.
- Ensure orders leave on time and are packaged professionally to prevent damage during transit.
Production Support
- Assist with sign finishing, including taping, applying magnets, painting and other finishing tasks.
- Help package completed projects for delivery.
- Support the production team wherever needed to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Assist with light assembly and other production-related duties.
Receiving & Inventory
- Receive supplier deliveries and verify contents against packing slips.
- Report discrepancies or damaged goods.
- Route paperwork appropriately for filing and data entry.
- Assist with inventory counts and organization.
General Team Support
- Help maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
- Organize materials and work areas.
- Assist in other areas of the business as required.
- Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, quality and organization.

Qualifications
- Able to lift and move packages weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Comfortable using basic hand tools (drill, utility knife,screwdrivers)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable, punctual and dependable.
