Heartwood Healing Centre aims to be an accessible, safe(r) space for healing and a respected community partner, providing leadership in addressing the individual and societal impacts of childhood sexual abuse through the provision of therapy and support services.
Our mission is to facilitate the healing journey of people who have experienced childhood sexual abuse and increase society’s understanding of this form of trauma. We do this by providing therapeutic services, strengthening support systems, exchanging knowledge, and raising awareness.

Main Responsibilities:
Duties:
· Oversee and address matters related to the standard of care provided to Heartwood participants.
· Meet regularly with therapists and counselors for individual and group supervision, and be available to staff for clinical consultations as needed.
· Establish and contribute to a healthy anti-oppressive work environment.
· Engage in ongoing learning and support the ongoing learning and development of direct service staff.
· Participate in Leadership meetings and consult with other Leadership members as needed.
· Manage record keeping and administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications:
· Graduate degree in social services or related field, MMFT degree considered an asset
· Five (5) years of experience providing therapy to people impacted by trauma, substance use, or mental health challenges.
· Two years of experience supervising the therapeutic practice of therapists, counsellors, or students.
· Registration with relevant professional regulatory associations.
· Other combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered.
· Experience or education or plans to pursue education in supervision is an asset.
· Comprehensive understanding of harm reduction, violence, mental health, and trauma as they relate to childhood sexual abuse at an individual and community level.
· Comprehensive understanding of systems trauma and the ability to support the emotional impact of this work on therapists and counsellors.
· Working knowledge of a wide range of therapeutic modalities and interventions including healing approaches from diverse worldviews.
· Demonstrated knowledge and ability to uphold ethical principles, standards, and regulations of relevant professional bodies and the organization.
· Demonstrated ability to collaboratively support the development of therapist’s clinical skills.
· Demonstrated ability to adapt supervision style to respond to the unique needs of individual therapists.
· Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
· Non-judgmental and accepting attitude, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Exceptional communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to engage various internal and external stakeholders.
· Computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
