Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Roofer/Laborer to join our construction team. This role involves working on residential and commercial roofing projects, assisting with various construction tasks, and ensuring the successful completion of roofing installations and repairs. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, reliable, and eager to learn new skills in the construction industry.
Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems on various structures
- Use hand tools such as hammers, drills, and saws to cut, shape, and install roofing materials
- Perform heavy lifting of materials like shingles, plywood, and metal panels safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret blueprints and project plans to ensure accurate installation
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure waterproofing and weatherproofing of roofs
- Assist with carpentry tasks related to roof framing and structural support
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries
Skills
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the industry
- Proficiency with hand tools commonly used in roofing and construction work
- Experience in general construction or carpentry is required
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for weatherproofing applications
- Capable of heavy lifting and performing physically demanding tasks throughout the workday
- Handyman experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility across various repair tasks
- Strong work ethic with attention to safety standards and detail-oriented approach
