Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will partner with the STA program managers in all HR related activities including but not limited to; recruitment, compensation and benefits, employee relations matters and training and development.
Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
Human Resources Role
- Provide HR Generalist support in the areas of recruitment, including screening resumes, interviewing, reference checks and working with hiring managers with offers to candidates
- Assisting with the coordination of onboarding for new hires
- Maintenance and updating of job descriptions for all SNN positions
- Provide HR Generalist support of performance management and learning and development
- Assist with all staff correspondence related to human resources
- Maintain employee records through the completion of HR workflows and processes, tracking HR metrics such as resignations, hires, leaves, internal job placements, and completing monthly reporting
- Assist HR team and managers with accurate completion of PCN’s & appropriate supporting documentation attached
- Coaching and mentoring new employees for all programs, being available for any questions/ concerns
- Back up team members as required
- Supporting level 1 employee relations matters
- Continually building effective communication & working relationships with various departments in STA& their employees as well as band administrations.
- Other duties as required
Employee Benefits Role
· Administration and communication of employee benefits for identified programs
· Assist and support employees in processing group benefit claims
· Following up on employee claims if and when required
· Processing of monthly statements and updating system spreadsheets
· Process of payment for monthly statements once approved
Education and Experience:
- Grade 12 Education
- Certificate and/or Diploma in Human Resource Management and/or Change Management an asset
- Knowledge & experience with Payroll/HR software
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outgoing team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to build partnerships with program managers.
- Ability to provide leadership in Human Resources issues.
- Eagerness to take initiative on variety of tasks and challenges
- Able to use good judgement and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity

Pay: $47,793.33-$88,297.22 per year
