This is a FTR P4 job posting for the Stations Electrical Capital Programs team lead position in Program and Contract
Management (PCM). We are a dynamic group of professional managers accountable for delivery of Stations and PCB
programs focused on asset replacement, maintenance, PCB and NERC compliance.
As the Stations Electrical team manager, you will lead a team of work program managers accountable for the delivery and
coordination of Stations electrical programs that are focused on end-of-life asset replacements and addressing station
deficiencies. Examples of station electrical programs include circuit breakers, disconnects, instrument transformers, voltage
regulators, surge arresters, diesel gen sets and other station assets.
- Directly manage a team of work program managers with an overall goal of delivering approximately $70M of capital asset
replacement while actively working with the team to plan pre-work for future fiscal programs.
- Foster strong relationships and high levels of engagement with electrical team members and associated delivery partners
to guide work from initiation through to completion. Support, collaborate and actively get involved with delivery partners on a
wide array of challenges in a time sensitive environment. Ability to escalate in a tactful manner in which all teams benefit.
- Forecast and report capital delivery progress, variance and mitigation plans to Senior Management on a monthly basis.
Apply principles of change control to scope, budget, and schedule at a portfolio level and prepare Change Notices on behalf
of the team.
- Ensure internal and external resources are assigned, establish contracts where required and provide insight and guidance
to work program management team with a focus on delivering work in a cost effective manner.
- Review individual program progress and assesses completed work for accuracy, required results and quality assurance.
- Investigate and analyze challenging initiatives which may be unique to the portfolio or program, with an ability to evaluate
options, criteria and outcomes with delivery partners.
- Lead or support cross-functional initiatives which may be unique to Station Electrical programs or which may have a
broader operational impact, with an ability to present and evaluate options, criteria and implement outcomes with delivery
partners
- Represent BC Hydro as the “Contract Owner” or the “Hydro Rep” on construction or equipment contracts. Support project
teams to reduce BC Hydro’s exposure to contract claims and participate in contract and claim negotiations with suppliers
and contractors.
