Project and Maintenance Work – Red Seal/Journeyman Pipefitter
Overview:
We are looking for a reliable field tradesperson confident and capable in managing work together in crews of multiple trades (millwright, pipefitter, welder, iron worker) for project specific rotational work.
This position will work in close coordination with existing plant/project supervisors, shift supervisors, operations, engineers, and tradespeople.
This position supports active work in the Labrador West area including shutdown/emergency work as required.
Ability to commute to flight hub with routes to Wabush, NL
Expectations of Applicant:
Applicants are expected to be proficient in the following:
Install, assemble, and maintain piping systems according to specifications and drawings.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the layout of piping systems.
Measure and cut pipes using various tools to ensure proper fit before installation.
Join pipes using welding, soldering, or adhesive techniques ensuring leak-proof connections including complex mitring and unique arrangements.
Inspect and test piping systems for safety and performance, adjusting as necessary.
Collaborate with other trades professionals to ensure timely completion of projects.
Follow all safety protocol, policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain records of work, maintain a clean work environment, focus on safety, respect employer/client policies.
Provide training and act as a leader/keeper for fellow employees.
Desired Applicant:
Licensed steamfitter/pipefitter (journeyman/red seal)
Outstanding work ethic with exceptional discipline, attendance, and safety record
Ideal candidates have at least (4) years of experience in heavy industrial settings with work on either construction, commissioning, or piping in complex environments.
Knowledge trouble shooting industrial systems and planning changes.
Knowledge of or certifications in confined space, fall arrest, lockout/tagout, WHMIS, ability to wear respiratory protection, ability to pass a medical exam, ability to work long hours in changing weather conditions.
Knowledge of specifications (ex. ASME B31.1, B31.3) would be a benefit.
Applicant must be able to complete scheduled drug and alcohol testing as required per client(s) requirements.
What We Offer:
Employment scheduled basis of 2 weeks on/off, with the option for flexibility to extend or reduce shift lengths.
Hourly compensation reflective of experience up to $46.50.
12 hr working days with flights, camps, meals, and vehicles provided.
Overtime after 8 hrs on weekdays, all weekends.

Pay: $35.00-$46.50 per hour
