The Shed restaurant offering members and their guests a casual, upscale service while Stonehaven is our banquet hall and conference center located within the same facility and is designed to accommodate groups up to 160 guests for weddings, corporate meetings and special events.

Job Description
We are looking for a professional Jr Sous Chef to support the food and beverage operations and act as the primary assistant to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef. The successful candidate will employ their culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Assists with food preparation and /or directly supervises the daily preparation of all foods in the absence of the Chef.
- Assists Executive Chef & Sous Chef with supervision of employees, sanitation and safety, menu planning and related production activities.
- Use safe food handling procedures as prescribed by York Region Health Department standards.
- Assists with maintaining the set standards for all food production, buffet, and plated service.
- Personally, works in any station assigned by the Executive Chef
- Evaluates all food products received, to maintain quality specifications.
- Maintains a professional working relationship with service staff to ensure that all menu items are consistent in quality and presentation.
Qualifications for Jr Sous Chef:
Culinary education, Red Seal degree or equivalent
5 years culinary experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler certification card
Must be able to stand continuously throughout an 8-hour+ shift
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Comfortable bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and moving quickly
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to read, write, and speak in English
