AV TECHNICIANS

JOB SUMMARY:
The Technician installs residential or commercial automation systems, including AV, home theater, climate control, lighting, motorized shades/blinds, security/cameras/access control and networks. Junior Technicians, in conjunction with Senior Techs and Project Managers, ensure that products are correctly installed, and best practices are followed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Work with colleagues, contractors and clients to ensure procedures are followed, correct materials are available, project timelines are adhered to, and clients are satisfied.
· Successfully execute AV install projects from rough-in phase through the finish phase including preparing the project space, running and terminating cabling, setting-up local area networks, and installing devices, hanging TVs, installing speakers, hanging shades, etc.
· Follow safety practices and procedures, including job site maintenance and cleanliness procedures.
· Accurately document work and report back to managers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Ability to Read and interpret construction documentation
· Maintain a standard of appearance and behavior that reflects 2Squared’s high-level of professionalism
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Audio video experience
· High School Diploma or GED
· Clean driving record
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· Familiar with Savant, Control4, and RTI
· Familiar with Lutron, and or Vantage lighting systems
· Has a solid understanding of networks
· Training, education or hands-on experience in the construction, electrical or AV industries.
· Experience interpreting blueprints, construction plan sets and architectural drawings preferred.
· Knowledge of structural basics, including drilling studs, beams, etc., and basic installation techniques, including opening sizes and device/component placement.
· Familiarity with basic wire dress, including final trim lengths, labeling, etc.
· Understanding of low-voltage and signal-flow and wired and wireless networks.
