Half-Day Co-operative Preschool
Our warm and welcoming co-operative preschool is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced Supervisor/Lead Teacher (RECE) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an early childhood educator who is passionate about high-quality early learning, building strong relationships with families, and leading a collaborative preschool community.
Position Summary
The Supervisor/Lead Teacher is responsible for the overall operation of the preschool program, ensuring compliance with all Ministry requirements while fostering a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for children, families, and staff. The successful candidate will work closely with educators, families, and the Board of Directors to maintain the high standards and strong sense of community that define our preschool.
Qualifications
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- CCEYA Standards Licensing Test - Schedule 1/Directors Approval
- Current CPR-C and Standard First Aid certification.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (no older than 6 months from date of hire).
- Up-to-date immunizations and all required vaccinations in accordance with applicable regulations and policies.
- Strong knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Ministry of Education requirements, and best practices in early learning.
- Hands-on experience with toddler and preschool age children.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff while maintaining a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Ensure compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Ministry licensing requirements, and all relevant policies and procedures.
- Maintain high-quality programming that supports children's development through play-based learning.
- Foster strong, respectful, and professional relationships with children, families, staff, and the Board of Directors.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with the ministry, region, and families.
- Support and mentor staff through ongoing coaching, collaboration, and professional growth opportunities.
- Participate in and promote continuous professional development, both individually and as part of the teaching team.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and administrative responsibilities as required.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all children and families.
