Position Overview
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Production Supervisor for Concrete Solutions oversees the operations of a precast concrete plant. The Production Supervisor is responsible for maintaining workflow efficiency, ensuring quality standards, managing inventory, and leading a team of precasters.
Roles and Responsibilities
Production & Inventory Management
- Execute Production Targets: Oversee the daily batching and mixing of concrete to consistently meet or exceed production schedules and volume targets.
- Inventory Control: Monitor raw material usage (cement, aggregates, admixtures, etc.) and proactively manage inventory levels to prevent production downtime.
- Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks, analyze production workflows, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and productivity.
Quality Assurance & Control
- Quality Monitoring: Review concrete test results regularly and proactively adjust batching processes to maintain strict compliance with design specifications.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot, investigate, and swiftly resolve any quality-related discrepancies or product defects.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise & Mentor: Lead, train, and mentor a dedicated team of precasters, fostering a culture of accountability, skill development, and teamwork.
Facility & Equipment Maintenance
- Asset Management: Ensure all manufacturing equipment and the physical facility are properly maintained, operational, and running at optimal capacity.
- Preventative Care: Schedule and coordinate regular preventative maintenance to minimize equipment failure and unexpected downtime.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Safety Leadership: Coordinate and champion all Health & Safety measures within the manufacturing environment.
- Hazard Mitigation: Conduct regular hazard identification assessments and implement corrective actions.
- Compliance & Training: Assign and verify Safe Work Training, enforce the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and machinery, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Education/Experience Requirements
- Minimum Experience:
- 2 to 5 years of supervisory experience
- Proven experience in concrete batching, precast manufacturing, or a similar industrial production environment.
Skills/Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of supervising and training manufacturing personnel.
- Deep understanding of concrete mix designs, testing procedures, and quality control.
- Uncompromising commitment to workplace health and safety.
