Position Summary
The Sanitation Technician is responsible for ensuring all equipment, production areas, and facilities are cleaned and sanitized to meet strict food safety and quality standards within a poultry processing environment. This role is critical in preventing contamination and maintaining compliance with CFIA regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed cleaning and sanitizing of processing equipment, including conveyors, Breaders, deboners, grinders, mixers, packaging machinery and more.
- Clean production areas such as floors, walls, drains, ceilings, and high-contact surfaces
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment for deep cleaning and inspection
- Follow established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) at all times
- Use and handle sanitation chemicals safely according to WHMIS requirements
- Ensure proper concentration and application of cleaning chemicals
- Conduct pre-operational inspections to verify cleanliness before production begins
- Complete sanitation records, logs, and checklists accurately and on time
- Identify and report any food safety risks, contamination issues, or equipment concerns
- Support HACCP, GMP, and CFIA regulatory compliance programs
- Maintain strict hygiene standards, including proper use of PPE (gloves, hairnets, smocks, boots)
- Assist in controlling cross-contamination, especially in raw poultry handling areas
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is an asset
- Previous sanitation or food processing experience is an asset
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, or food safety systems is an asset (Will be trained)
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and safety protocols
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
