Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Fabric Screen Printer & Transfer Department Supervisor to lead daily operations across its Screen Printing and Transfer Departments in Toronto.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising a team of approximately 8 production employees while ensuring quality, productivity, safety, and on-time delivery of customer orders. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise in fabric screen printing and heat transfer applications with proven leadership skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and schedule a team of approximately 8 production employees across the Screen Printing and Transfer Departments
- Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment
- Provide coaching, training, and performance management support to team members
- Ensure staffing levels and workflow assignments align with production demands
- Promote teamwork, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Oversee daily production activities to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on schedule
- Monitor workflow, capacity, and production priorities to meet delivery commitments
- Coordinate production schedules and adjust resources to address changing business needs
- Manage multiple production deadlines while maintaining quality and efficiency standards
Quality Assurance & Customer Satisfaction
- Maintain rigorous quality control standards throughout the production process
- Ensure colours, print registration, alignment, and transfer applications meet approved customer specifications
- Verify that all products meet "First Quality" standards prior to shipment
- Investigate and resolve quality concerns while implementing preventative measures
- Support continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing waste and rework
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Account Managers and customer service teams to review incoming orders and production requirements
- Identify potential production challenges and provide proactive solutions
- Communicate production timelines, project status updates, and scheduling constraints
- Support successful execution of customer orders from order entry through final production
Technical Leadership – Screen Printing & Transfer Operations
- Provide technical expertise in fabric screen printing processes, ink mixing, colour matching, and print quality control
- Oversee transfer department operations, including heat transfer applications, adhesive technologies, and material compatibility
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of production equipment including:
- Screen printing presses
- Flash dryers
- Conveyor dryers
- Heat presses
- Troubleshoot production issues, print defects, equipment concerns, and process challenges
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Monitor production performance, equipment utilization, and operational efficiency
- Identify opportunities to improve throughput, quality, and cost efficiency
- Implement process improvements to reduce waste and increase productivity
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the production operation
QualificationsExperience
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on fabric screen printing experience
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or production leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience leading production teams in a deadline-driven setting
Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of fabric screen printing processes and best practices
- Experience with ink mixing, colour matching, and print quality standards
- Extensive knowledge of heat transfer technology and adhesive applications
- Understanding of material compatibility across synthetic and natural fabrics
- Experience operating and troubleshooting screen printing and transfer equipment
Leadership & Communication
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop production teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with customer-facing and operational teams
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities
Problem Solving & Decision Making
- Ability to quickly identify and resolve production issues
- Strong troubleshooting skills related to print defects, workflow bottlenecks, and equipment challenges
