We are seeking an organized individual to support mail and file services for the Tax Compliance and Benefits Division.
In this role, you will:
- receive, process, control, distribute, and deliver mail, correspondence, records, office supplies in a high volume, security-conscious environment
- provide file retrieval and maintenance services for the division
- process outgoing mail by utilizing postage machine, and creating labels for outgoing mail
- follow secure and confidential record handling procedures for the retention and disposal of documents
- verify purchasing documents and check for damage or discrepancies
- you can identify and resolve errors and discrepancies
- you can use sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential, legal, or sensitive information
- you can identify threats or hazardous items that may pose safety risks to employees and property
- you can interpret and apply policies, guidelines, and procedures
- you can communicate clearly to respond to file requests and explain records retention and destruction procedures
- you are able to work independently and as part of a team
- you can prioritize urgent tasks and manage competing deadlines in a high-volume environment
- you pay attention to detail to when creating, sorting, coding, and storing records
- you have mathematical skills to maintain production statistics and accurate page counts
- you are proficient with computers to perform data entry, email, file tracking, report preparation, and information management
- you have experience working with records management, file retrieval, and records maintenance
- you have experience working with inventory procedures, order fulfillment, supply monitoring, requisitions, and document verification
- you can learn procedures and program areas to accurately distribute mail and respond to file requests
