How will you contribute?
The Manager, Procurement is responsible and accountable for providing strategic direction and ensuring that the policy requirements for the corporate procurement function and for Senators align with the overall mission, vision, direction and needs of the Senate of Canada. The position is responsible for developing a strategic approach to corporate procurement activities for the purchase of goods and services for Senators and the Administration. The Manager develops, implements and ensures that the Procurement Policy is understood and followed by Administration’s employees, as well as ensures that the procurement requirements included in the Senators’ Office Management Policy (SOMP) are understood and followed by Senators and their employees.
Open to
The general public to staff one (1) indeterminate full-time position in the Finance and Procurement direction. This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.

Prerequisites
- Post secondary diploma in administration/business, or related field;
- The designation Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or registration in the educational program of the Supply Chain Management Association would be asset;
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the procurement field;
- Experience in developing policy and program frameworks, as well as internal controls and business practices for procurement and contracting functions;
- Experience in developing procurement strategies and plans;
- Experience in developing and establishing compliance processes;
- Experience in negotiating the terms and conditions of procurement and contracting with external service providers;
- Experience using procurement, financial, or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to support procurement operations and reporting;
- Experience interpreting and applying procurement legislation, trade agreements, policies, directives, and regulatory requirements;
- Good leadership and supervisory skills are required to manage, coach, develop, and performance manage staff, establish priorities, and ensure effective delivery of procurement services and operational objectives.
