Peters Bros Construction is currently seeking experienced Labourers – Asphalt Rakers to join our paving crews for the construction season.

What is the Role?
Reporting to the Paving Foreman, the Asphalt Raker is responsible for distributing, leveling, and placing hot mix asphalt to the required grade and finish prior to compaction. This position plays a key role in ensuring the quality and appearance of the finished asphalt surface.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Distribute and rake asphalt material to achieve the desired grade and smoothness.
- Level asphalt to fine grade specifications using rakes and shovels.
- Perform tamping, shoveling, rough raking, and other labour-related duties as required.
- Assist paving crews in achieving quality workmanship and production targets.
- Monitor weather and site conditions and understand their impact on asphalt placement and compaction.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Foreman.
What Do We Value?
- Minimum of 2 years of asphalt raking experience.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence required.
- Experience operating paving-related equipment, including skid steers, is considered an asset.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to take direction and work effectively with limited supervision.
- Physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required during the construction season.
- Successful candidates must be able to meet pre-employment testing requirements.
