Job Title: Temporary Part-Time Office Assistant
Union Classification: CUPE Local 105-02 Clerk 1
Term: Part-Time, Temporary (4 hours per day, 5 days per week for a 4-Month Term)

Position Summary

The Temporary Part-Time Office Assistant provides administrative and reception support to ensure the office operates efficiently. This position performs general office duties, processes payments, and assists with front desk reception responsibilities while maintaining a professional and courteous environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform general office and administrative duties, including filing, photocopying, and scanning.
Receive and process property tax payments and utility bill payments accurately and issue receipts as required.
Provide reception coverage, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
Maintain organized office records and confidential information.
Respond to public inquiries professionally and respectfully.
Assist with routine clerical tasks.
Support staff and management with administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous office or administrative experience is considered an asset.
Experience handling payments or cash transactions is considered an asset.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Proficiency with standard office equipment and computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Minimum Grade 12 and proficient English language speaking and writing skills.

Working Conditions

Part-time hours (4 hours per day) for a temporary 4-month period.
Work is performed in an office environment.
May involve extended periods of sitting, computer use, and interaction with the public.

Compensation

Clerk 1 – hourly wage is $31.77 per hour

Wages and working conditions will be in accordance with the applicable CUPE Local 105-02 Collective Agreement (January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2026).
