About the Opportunity
Augury Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of a healthcare organization in New Brunswick for a permanent, full-time Registered Nurse position within a specialized Forensic Psychiatry – Community Reintegration program.
This opportunity is open to Registered Nurses from across Canada, particularly those with experience or an interest in mental health, psychiatric nursing, behavioural health, crisis intervention, or forensic care.
The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team providing specialized nursing care with a strong focus on patient safety, recovery, stabilization, and successful community reintegration.
Candidates do not need to currently reside in New Brunswick but must be willing to relocate to Campbellton, New Brunswick if selected.
Position Details
- Permanent, full-time employment

- Rotating 8- and 12-hour shifts
- Approximate annual salary of $88,700–$107,900, depending on recognized experience and applicable wage-step placement

Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive physical and mental health nursing assessments.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Provide safe, therapeutic, patient-centred, and recovery-oriented nursing care.
- Monitor patients and respond appropriately to changes in their physical, behavioural, and mental health status.
- Respond appropriately to psychiatric emergencies and crisis situations.
- Support patients in achieving treatment, recovery, and community reintegration goals.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and professional standards.
- Participate in patient safety and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and colleagues.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must:
- Be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in Canada and eligible for registration with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick.
- Hold current BLS certification.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Be able to successfully complete a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be able to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Be able to perform the physical and clinical requirements of the position.
Candidates must also have, or be willing to complete following hire:
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention / CPI, including advanced physical skills
- Prevention and Management of Suicidal Behaviour training in a psychiatric setting
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in the following areas will be considered an asset:
- Mental health or psychiatric nursing
- Forensic psychiatry

- Corrections or secure treatment environments
- Community mental health

Bilingual English and French communication skills are a strong asset.

Principales responsabilités
- Effectuer des évaluations infirmières complètes de la santé physique et mentale.
- Élaborer, mettre en œuvre et évaluer des plans de soins infirmiers individualisés.
- Fournir des soins sécuritaires, thérapeutiques, centrés sur le patient et axés sur le rétablissement.

Qualifications requises
Les candidats doivent :
- Être infirmier(ère) autorisé(e) au Canada et être admissibles à l'inscription auprès de l'Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Nouveau-Brunswick.
- Détenir une certification BLS valide.
- Être légalement autorisés à travailler au Canada.
- Pouvoir satisfaire aux exigences de vérification du casier judiciaire et du secteur vulnérable.
- Faire preuve d'un excellent jugement clinique et de solides capacités de prise de décision.
- Posséder d'excellentes compétences en communication et en relations interpersonnelles.
- Être capables de travailler de façon autonome et au sein d'une équipe interdisciplinaire.
- Être physiquement capables d'accomplir les fonctions cliniques du poste.
