Skilled Construction Labourer / Pipe Layer
Charles Smith Construction Ltd. is looking for an experienced Skilled Labourer / Pipe Layer to join our growing civil construction team.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in quality workmanship, and has experience installing underground utilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of water, sewer, and storm pipe
- Grade trenches and prepare pipe bedding
- Set and align pipe using lasers and grade stakes
- Install manholes, catch basins, and related infrastructure
- Work safely around excavators and heavy equipment
- Assist with site layout, compaction, and backfilling
- Perform daily site clean-up and general labour duties
- Follow all company and site safety procedures
Qualifications
- Experience installing underground water, sewer, or storm systems is required
- Ability to work in trenches and around heavy equipment safely
- Knowledge of grades, elevations, and laser equipment is an asset
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Valid driver's licence (Class 3 or Class 1 is an asset)
