Built Carpentry Inc. is growing, and we are looking for a Junior Carpenter to join our team.
We are a residential renovation and carpentry company based in Sarnia, working on a variety of projects including interior renovations, decks, fences, trim, flooring, framing, bathrooms, basements, and custom carpentry work. We take pride in doing quality work, treating clients’ homes with respect, and building things properly from the start.
This position is a great fit for someone who has some construction or carpentry experience and is looking to continue learning, improve their skills, and grow with a company that values good workmanship, reliability, and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
As a Junior Carpenter, you will assist with day-to-day work on residential renovation and carpentry projects. Duties may include:
- Assisting lead carpenters and crew members on job sites
- Basic framing, demolition, trim, flooring, decks, fences, and renovation work
- Loading, unloading, and organizing tools and materials
- Maintaining clean and safe job sites
- Measuring, cutting, fastening, and assembling materials under direction
- Following instructions and completing tasks efficiently
- Respecting clients’ homes and maintaining a professional attitude on site
- Learning proper techniques, tool use, and job site procedures
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Some carpentry, renovation, or construction experience
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Ability to lift materials and perform physical work throughout the day
- CSA-approved work boots
- A valid driver’s licence is preferred
Apprentices, recent graduates from a construction program, or individuals looking to build a long-term career in carpentry are encouraged to apply.
