Position Title: Training Specialist

Location:Saskatoon, SK

Reporting to: Training Lead

Schedule: Monday to Friday, In-Office

The Opportunity

Denison is building something rare in Canadian mining: not just a project, but a completely new operational model for uranium mining in Canada. As the company advances the Wheeler River Project, they are creating training systems and operational readiness programs from the ground up.

As Denison’s Training Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and implementing site-specific training programs that support operational excellence, workforce readiness, and safety performance. This is not a role focused solely on delivering pre-built programs. You will work directly with site teams, operating manuals and subject matter experts to gather information, identify training needs, and help create entirely new training systems designed specifically for the Wheeler River operation.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong operational background who thrives in collaborative environments, enjoys building systems from the ground up, and wants to contribute to one of the most innovative uranium projects in Canada.

Key Responsibilities

As the Training Specialist you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:

1. Training Program Development & Delivery

Develop, coordinate, deliver, and continuously improve site-specific training programs utilizing a Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
Build new operational training programs from the ground up in collaboration with supervisors, and site stakeholders.
Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions, including onboarding, site orientation, compliance training, technical skills development, and competency-based field training.
Assist in the development and revision of training materials, work instructions, procedures, presentations, and competency checklists.

2. Operational Collaboration & Workforce Readiness

Work closely with subject matter experts to identify training gaps and operational learning requirements.
Conduct needs analyses and gather site-specific operational information to support effective training development.
Support workforce readiness initiatives as Wheeler River advances toward future operational activities.
Participate in field observations and ongoing training effectiveness reviews.

3. Compliance, Systems & Continuous Improvement

Maintain accurate training records, matrices, dashboards, and documentation using learning management systems and tracking tools.
Ensure training programs align with provincial and federal regulations, company standards, and site-specific operational requirements.
Participate in audits, reviews, and incident investigations to identify training improvements and corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen training quality, consistency, and operational performance.

4. Team Support & Leadership

Support the Training Lead in coordinating training schedules, logistics, and external training providers.
Act as a peer mentor and resource for other trainers and operational personnel when required.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

The Essentials (Hard Skills):

Minimum 5 years of training, operational, supervisory, or industrial site experience.
Strong operational background within mining, industrial, processing, or heavy industrial environments.
Uranium industry experience is strongly preferred.
Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Adult Education, Training & Development, Operations, or a related field is considered an asset.
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
Experience developing and delivering operational or technical training programs.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Eligibility to work in Canada.
