A little about us…

Located in Sherwood Park, Alberta, we are the first fully integrative clinic in Northern Alberta. We
serve individuals and families across the Edmonton region, including Sherwood Park, St. Albert,
Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, Beaumont, Ardrossan, and, of course, the City of Edmonton. We have
two spaces within Aspen Plaza in Sherwood Park. Our main clinic, Park Integrative HealthTM (PIH),
provides medical and allied health services and our secondary space, Synapse, houses our
chiropractic and physiotherapy treatments.

The concept for PIH grew from our shared belief that a journey to health requires an inclusive
approach. One that focuses on an individual’s mind, body, and spiritual well-being.

Our co-founders, Dr. Neeja Bakshi, Heather Gazley, Brandon R. Jacobs, and Mahesh Upadhyay, saw
a gap in service delivery for health and wellness treatments and a misbelief that Eastern and
Western medical traditions could not coexist. Our experiences with integrative medicine said
otherwise, and we knew PIH was going to be the one to disrupt this way of thinking; to change the
system.

Y O U R R O L E A T S Y N A P S E :

Reporting to the Director of Allied Health, the Chiropractor position provides expert chiropractic
care as part of a dynamic, integrative healthcare team at Synapse and Park Integrative Health
(PIH). You are a key contributor in helping patients achieve optimal wellness, using evidence-
based chiropractic techniques to support mobility, function, and overall well-being.

You bring your clinical expertise and passion for holistic care to this role, working alongside
physiotherapists, massage therapists, acupuncturists, and other healthcare professionals to
deliver patient-centered treatment. You’re a strong communicator, helping patients understand
their care plans while ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment. You’re adaptable,
solution-focused, and eager to collaborate on interdisciplinary health strategies.

We know chiropractic care encompasses a lot, so here are a few more specific responsibilities
required for this role:

Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history and physical

examinations

Diagnosing musculoskeletal conditions, with a focus on spinal health and

neuromusculoskeletal function

Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans using chiropractic

adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and rehabilitative exercises

Educating patients on posture, ergonomics, lifestyle modifications, and injury prevention
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as physiotherapists, massage

therapists, acupuncturists, and physicians, to ensure integrated patient care

Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with regulatory

standards

Practicing within the guidelines set by the College of Chiropractors of Alberta (CCA) and

Alberta Health Professions Act

Staying up to date with continuing education and professional development to maintain

licensing

Ensuring ethical, patient-centered care and informed consent for all treatments
Managing appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and treatment progress tracking
Keeping documentation in line with legal and insurance requirements, including

Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) and extended health benefits claims

T H E Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S N E E D E D T O S U C C E E D I N T H I S R O L E :

Completion of at least three years of undergraduate studies (preferably in sciences)
Graduation from an accredited Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) program �
Successful completion of the Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board (CCEB) exams
Registration with the College of Chiropractors of Alberta (CCA)
Completion of jurisprudence and ethics training as required by the CCA
Completion of and commitment to continuing education credits to maintain your

chiropractic license

Staying updated on evidence-based practices, new techniques, and professional ethics
Strong diagnostic and manual therapy skills for treating neuromusculoskeletal conditions
Knowledge of rehabilitative exercises, pain management strategies, and patient education
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting, collaborating with other

healthcare professionals
