Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher/Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for finishing drywall surfaces, applying tape and joint compound, and ensuring a smooth, professional finish on interior walls and ceilings. This role requires attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment. Experience in related trades such as carpentry, painting, or handyman work is highly valued. The Drywall Finisher/Taper plays a crucial part in delivering high-quality results on commercial and residential projects.

Responsibilities

Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams, corners, and joints to create a seamless surface
Sand and smooth finished surfaces for painting or further finishing
Read blueprints and project specifications to determine the scope of work
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete taping and finishing tasks
Repair or replace damaged drywall sections as needed
Coordinate with other trades such as carpentry, painting, or caulking teams to ensure project continuity
Maintain a clean work area and adhere to safety protocols at all times
Assist with other related tasks such as caulking or minor carpentry repairs when necessary

Skills

Proven experience in drywall finishing, taping, or related construction trades
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and construction drawings
Skilled in using hand tools, taping knives, sanding tools, and power equipment
Construction experience including carpentry, painting, or handyman skills is preferred
Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
Attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and working at heights if required
Knowledge of safety procedures relevant to construction sites
