Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part Time Dietary Assistant to join our team in providing nutritious and well-prepared meals for residents in our retirement home. This role is vital in ensuring residents receive quality food service that meets safety standards and dietary needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, food handling, and customer service, with a passion for supporting the well-being of others through meal service.
Duties
- Assist with meal preparation and cooking according to dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Serve meals to residents in a courteous and professional manner
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, adhering to food safety protocols
- Handle food items safely, including proper storage, handling, and disposal
- Support with kitchen sanitation, including cleaning utensils, equipment, and surfaces
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely meal delivery during scheduled hours
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
Qualifications
- Experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation procedures
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with residents and staff
- Good time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Kitchen experience or prior food handling experience is highly desirable
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for all residents and staff
Pay: From $21.45 per hour
