School year needs: Before school (6-930), afterschool (shifts starting at 2:30pm) and weekends.
Summer: Day time, afternoon and evening shifts based on client individual needs.
Saturday and Sunday availability required..

Job Expectations
- Provide therapeutic and community-based support to children, youth, and adults with developmental, behavioural, and/or complex mental health support needs.
- Support individuals in areas including emotional regulation, communication, social skills, recreational engagement, life skills, community participation, and behavioural goals.
- Build safe, consistent, and trusting relationships with individuals and families through a person-centred and trauma-informed approach.
- Support individuals who may demonstrate high-risk behaviours including emotional dysregulation, verbal aggression, physical aggression, property destruction, or elopement behaviours.
- Implement evidence-informed behavioural and emotional support strategies while maintaining safety for all involved.
- Support individuals primarily within community-based environments including recreation spaces, outings, respite settings, homes, and transitional environments.
- Work independently and autonomously while remaining connected to a supportive management and clinical team.
- Collaborate with families, schools, healthcare professionals, community partners, and internal team members when appropriate.
- Complete accurate and professional documentation including session notes, behavioural tracking, incident reports, and communication logs.
- Follow all agency policies related to confidentiality, documentation, professional boundaries, risk management, and workplace safety.
- Some limited personal care and/or medical support may be required depending on the needs of the individual supported.
Qualifications
- Education in Child and Youth Care, Social Service Work, Psychology, Behavioural Science, Developmental Services, or related fields is preferred.
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, ASD, FASD, complex mental health needs, behavioural needs, or dual diagnoses.
- Strong ability to remain calm, adaptable, patient, and solution-focused within high-pressure situations.
- Understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred, and strength-based approaches to support.
- Ability to build rapport and engage resistant, anxious, emotionally dysregulated, or high-risk individuals through relationship-focused support.
- Ability to work independently within community settings while demonstrating strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with behavioural support strategies, emotional regulation support, de-escalation techniques, and risk management is considered an asset.
- Knowledge or experience related to ABA, DBT, CBT, NVCI/CPI, ASIST, or other evidence-informed approaches is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online workspace platforms considered an asset.
Additional Requirements:
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid G Class Driver’s License and Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Valid vehicle insurance with minimum $2,000,000 liability coverage and permission to transport clients for work purposes
- Reliable vehicle with ability to safely transport clients
- Medical clearance and proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required at certain worksites
