Accounting Clerk – Full-Time

Location: Mitchell, Ontario
Department: Administration
Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Starting Salary: From $50,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Accounting Clerk to join our Administration Department to fill a replacement position. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. The successful candidate will assist with daily accounting tasks, support financial reporting, and serve as a key liaison within the department.

This role reports directly to the Director of Finance.

Key Responsibilities

Perform general reception duties (phone handling, ordering office supplies)
Record and maintain daily financial transactions
Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including vendor payments and customer invoicing
Reconcile AP/AR accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Process receipts for raw materials and packaging
Reconcile bank statements and investigate variances
Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting
Maintain accurate and confidential filing systems
Process employee expense reports in compliance with company policy
Support month-end and year-end closings, as well as internal audits
Post manual journal entries as required

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

High school diploma (required)
Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business Administration (preferred)
3–5 years of experience in a similar accounting or clerical role (preferred)

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience with Sage 300 (preferred)
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Reliable, professional, and a collaborative team player
Able to work independently and manage competing deadlines
Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to team success
