TVCC is currently recruiting to fill the following Speech-Language Pathologist positions in School Therapy Services:
- One regular, full time (37.5 hours/week) position with a designated office of London. Services will be provided in Elgin, Middlesex and Oxford counties.
- One regular, full time (37.5 hours/week) position with a designated office of Stratford. Services will be provided in Huron and Perth counties.
These positions are based on the school year and no work is available during school breaks, including July and August.
This exciting role provides therapy services to students in schools and involves working with a variety of fellow clinicians, educators and parents to help children and youth achieve meaningful outcomes in their ability to communicate.
Responsibilities
- Provide mainly school based intervention including screening, assessment and consultation regarding speech development, articulation, fluency, voice, resonance, basic augmentative communication needs and swallowing;
- Intervention can be direct, mediated or consultative and may be in groups or include virtual modalities;
- Provide education for clients, families and school personnel
- Plan services as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes the family, other care providers, school board personnel, volunteers, staff from other agencies, and other TVCC staff;
- Occasional work contracted from Ontario Health atHome (formerly Home and Community Care Support Services) for in home and private school services. This may on rare occasions be in the evenings or on weekends; scheduled by the therapist in consultation with the family;
- Participate in ongoing program development;
- Clinical supervision of support personnel, students and initial practice registrants within the guidelines of CASLPO may be required.
Qualifications
- Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario
- Experience in pediatrics is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Computer proficiency including MS Office 365 and videoconferencing software (ex. Teams)
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are required
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR
- Ability to provide services in French would be an asset
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
