This is a cross-functional position, working closely with other departments and requires a solid understanding of quality in an automotive manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for assisting a high performing team, ensuring the highest level of quality in our processes for our customers.

SUMMARY
The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the manufacturing process to ensure product conforms to customer requirements and analyzing all stages of the manufacturing system to maximize the quality of the products being produced. They will be responsible for customer documentation and must understand the customer quality expectations and relay them to the MVA Stratford team. They must also have knowledge of prevention planning and the correction of non-conformances.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform Root Cause analysis and support the corrective action process for external and internal quality issues and meet response times set by the customer.
- Interact with the customers and suppliers regarding all quality-related concerns.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure they understand the expectations and ensure monthly reports are sent and concerns are addressed through the corrective action process.
- Conduct Internal and External Quality Systems Audit when required.
- Work with other departments to support continuous improvements.
- Assist Quality Manager in maintaining the Quality Management System.
- Support new product launch by interacting with the customer and creating all PPAP documents and following them through approval and launch.
- Work with the quality technicians and inspectors to support and give guidance about quality expectations.
- Work with manufacturing to solve in house quality and process concerns.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement activities as required
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, & KNOWLEDGE
- Post secondary education in Quality or a related discipline
- Minimum 2 years in a Quality Engineering role in a manufacturing environment
- Competent with basic measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gages, and various inspection fixtures
- Read and interpret CAD and blueprints accurately
- Strong metrology background, including GD&T, CMM and scanning
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to travel
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a challenging and fast paced team orientated environment
- Team player who works productively with a wide range of people
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the company
- Understanding of Microsoft products; strong computer skills
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, MSA, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO14001: 2015 and Control Plans
- Detail oriented & the ability to handle multiple projects at one time
