Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, component replacements, and performance testing on diesel internal combustion engines, including starting, steering, and braking systems.
- Diagnose and service drivetrain components such as clutches, hydraulic couplings, transmissions, transfer cases, and axle assemblies.
- Inspect, repair, and reassemble suspension systems, structural frames, wheels, and track systems.
- Maintain and repair auxiliary equipment including winches, power take-offs (PTOs), hydraulic pumps, booms, cables, blades, and buckets.
- Service and overhaul electrical systems and components such as alternators, distributors, starters, relays, and solenoids.
- Review and apply manufacturer technical documentation to ensure compliance with specifications and warranty standards.
- Carry out additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certified Alberta Heavy Duty Technician (Red Seal designation considered an asset).
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to the heavy equipment trade.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with good hand–eye coordination and physical endurance.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-based work environment.
