Your Responsibilities
As a Caregiver/Housekeeper, you will:
- Provide compassionate, person-centred care based on each client's individual needs and care plan.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including:
- Bathing
- Dressing
- Grooming
- Toileting
- Personal hygiene
- Mobility and transfers
- Support clients with companionship and emotional well-being.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements.
- Assist with feeding when required.
- Perform light housekeeping duties including:
- Laundry
- Vacuuming
- Dusting
- Bathroom and kitchen cleaning
- Bed making
- Assist with medication reminders or medication assistance as outlined in the care plan.
- Observe and report changes in a client's physical, emotional, or behavioural condition.
- Document care provided accurately and professionally.
- Maintain client confidentiality and follow all health and safety policies.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, care coordinators, and family members.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience providing home care, expirience with disability young adult
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassion, patience, and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Ability to drive her own car
- A strong commitment to providing exceptional client care.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Valid G2 or G Driver's Licence
- Reliable vehicle
- Current CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Ability to travel to client homes throughout the GTA
Assets
The following would be considered an asset:
- PSW Certificate or equivalent healthcare education
- Experience caring for clients with:
- Dementia
- Alzheimer's disease
- Parkinson's disease
- Palliative care
- Stroke recovery
- Disabilities
- Medication administration experience
- Experience using lifts and transfer equipment
- Multilingual abilities
