Creativity Comes First
MYC Media is looking for a highly creative Graphic Designer who can develop original concepts, solve visual problems, and turn customer requirements into strong, professional designs.
Creativity, portfolio quality, and potential are more important to us than years of experience. Experienced designers and exceptional recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
This role is not for everyone. If you are not highly creative, do not enjoy solving problems, or prefer simply following templates and instructions, this position is not the right fit for you.
About MYC Media
MYC Media is a full-service visual communications, design, manufacturing, production, and installation company. Our projects include branding, signage, vehicle wraps, small- and large-format printing, trade show displays, window and wall graphics, digital design, and environmental graphics.
Unlike many design companies, we manufacture, produce, and install much of what we design, allowing our designers to see their work progress from concept through manufacturing and production to final installation.
Responsibilities
- Develop original concepts for branding, print, signage, vehicle graphics, digital media, trade shows, and environmental graphics.
- Create customer presentations, mockups, and accurate production-ready artwork.
- Follow brand standards while contributing strong creative ideas.
- Use AI for design, research, image generation, problem-solving, automation, workflow, and time management, including writing and refining effective prompts.
- Review artwork for spelling, measurements, layout, materials, color, and production accuracy.
- Manage multiple projects and collaborate with design, manufacturing, production, and installation teams.
Qualifications
- Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, original thinking, typography, layout, branding, and visual problem-solving.
- Ability to develop original ideas rather than relying only on templates.
- Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills, with working knowledge of Adobe InDesign.
- Strong understanding of composition, color, hierarchy, and visual communication.
- Ability to use AI, automation, and effective prompting to improve design quality and productivity.
- Ability to identify and correct weak or inaccurate AI-generated results.
- Experience preparing print-ready artwork.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and teamwork.
Professional experience is an asset but is not the main deciding factor. Recent graduates with an exceptional portfolio are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Experience
Experience in branding, vehicle wraps, printing, signage, sign permit and technical drawings, wayfinding, trade show displays, digital or 3D design, and manufacturing or installation processes is an asset.
Career Growth
Strong performers may advance quickly to Senior Graphic Designer, Design Lead, or Design Manager.
