About the Role
Markage is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our fully remote Canadian team.
This is a mid-level, multi-client design role for someone who enjoys variety, works well within a clear production process, and can move confidently between different brands, industries, formats, and creative requirements.
Unlike a traditional in-house position focused on one organization, this role supports multiple Markage clients. During a typical month, you may contribute to several projects across social media, web, email, presentations, campaigns, print, packaging, and brand development.
You will receive defined assignments through our production process, work independently on the design, and collaborate with marketing, web, content, product, and project leads as needed. Your work will be reviewed before it is delivered to the client.
AI tools are part of our day-to-day workflow. We expect designers to understand when these tools can save time, support idea development, or produce useful variations—and when professional design judgment must take the lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Design high-quality visual materials for multiple clients, brands, and industries
- Create social media graphics, presentation decks, marketing collateral, advertisements, packaging concepts, email graphics, web assets, and brand elements
- Interpret creative briefs and convert business requirements into clear, effective visual work
- Apply each client’s brand guidelines accurately and consistently
- Move between different brand systems without losing quality, accuracy, or attention to detail
- Prepare and optimize files for websites, social platforms, email campaigns, presentations, digital advertising, and print production
- Support landing pages, website layouts, product concepts, prototypes, and other visual requirements when needed
- Use AI-supported design tools for research, concept development, image generation, variations, resizing, and production tasks where appropriate
- Review AI-generated material carefully for accuracy, originality, visual quality, and brand fit
- Respond professionally to feedback and complete revisions within the agreed project scope
- Manage several active assignments while meeting deadlines in a remote production environment
- Maintain organized working files, final files, templates, and asset libraries
- Communicate clearly when instructions, source materials, deadlines, or technical requirements need clarification
Requirements
- A current and valid Dex Professional Specialist Certification (DEX-PSP), or a higher professional-level Dex certification, is required
- A strong portfolio showing professional graphic design work across digital and print formats
- Two to five years of professional graphic design experience
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Strong working knowledge of typography, layout, colour theory, composition, hierarchy, and brand consistency
- Experience preparing files for both digital delivery and professional print production
- Confidence working across multiple client accounts, visual identities, and project types
- Ability to interpret briefs, make sound design decisions, and explain those decisions when needed
- Comfort using AI tools as a regular part of the design process
- Strong file-management, time-management, and quality-control practices
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines without close day-to-day supervision
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English
- A reliable working environment suitable for full-time remote employment
- Applicants must already be legally entitled to work in Canada for the duration of their employment
- This position is fully remote but is available only to candidates working within Canada
- Markage cannot provide immigration sponsorship, an LMIA, or employer-supported work authorization for this position
Preferred Qualifications
- Adobe Certified Professional certification
- Experience with Figma, Canva, or other professional design platforms
- Experience working in a studio, production team, or other multi-client setting
- Experience designing for small and medium-sized businesses across different industries
- Knowledge of basic motion graphics, video editing, or simple animation
- Familiarity with website layout, landing-page design, UI design, or UX principles
- Experience with packaging, merchandise, or commercial print production
- Experience organizing templates, shared libraries, and reusable brand assets
What We Offer
- Annual salary of $60,000–$78,000 CAD
- Full-time, fully remote employment within Canada
- A broad range of client work across brands, industries, platforms, and formats
- The opportunity to develop greater range than is typically possible in a single-brand design position
- A defined production process with clear assignments, review stages, and client approvals
- Collaboration with colleagues working across design, marketing, content, web, and product development
- Regular use of current design systems, production tools, and AI-supported workflows
- A work environment that values sound judgment, dependable execution, organization, and professional growth
The salary range reflects the breadth of the role, the volume and variety of client work, and the level of judgment required to maintain consistent quality across multiple assignments.
