Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty equipment, including service truck modules, vacuum systems, water systems, and hydraulics

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical documentation

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on sewer units, street sweepers, ice resurfacing equipment, garbage trucks, and similar equipment

Interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics to identify issues and implement effective repair solutions

Complete work orders accurately and efficiently within established timelines

Document work performed, parts used, and test results using a digital system

Travel to customer sites across British Columbia (approximately 20–40%) to complete on-site diagnostics and repairs

Work independently in the field while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship

Use personal tools and shop equipment safely and effectively

Support basic welding tasks when required (MIG welding on steel or aluminum, if experienced)

Collaborate with a close-knit team and contribute to a positive, professional work environment

Follow all safety standards, company policies, and best practices

Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or Commercial Transport certification, or 3rd/4th year apprentice with relevant experience

At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting electrical systems on heavy-duty equipment or vehicles

Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation

Clear written communication skills for documenting work

A complete set of personal tools for heavy-duty mechanical work

Willingness to travel for field service work across BC

A self-driven approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience with street sweepers, ice resurfacing equipment, garbage trucks, or street flushers

Extensive experience (10+ years) as a Red Seal Heavy Duty or Commercial Transport Mechanic

Class 3 driver’s license with air brakes

Experience with AC/DC converters and related electrical systems

MIG welding experience (steel or aluminum)

Back, ground in heavy equipment or commercial transport environments
