P5 Millwork and Design Ltd. require an experienced, energetic, and skilled Cabinetmaker/Millworker. We are a commercial cabinet and millwork shop located in Armstrong BC, with projects throughout the Okanagan and into the Lower Mainland, Kootenays, and Alberta.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications and prepare cut lists.
- Build, manage and assemble custom millwork, cabinet boxes, and other custom pieces.
- Plan and manage production tasks to make efficient use of time and equipment.
- Set up and operate production equipment to produce components according to drawings.
- Work with different materials including engineered wood products, veneers, laminates, and fine hardwoods.
- Verify compliance of produced components against drawings or design documents.
- Assemble components into completed units using fasteners, adhesives, biscuits, dominoes, pocket screws and joinery techniques.
- Prepare surfaces for finishing department.
- Best practices for sanding including but not limited to veneer/solid surfaces.
- Participate in training of apprentices and junior employees.
Skills, Education and Experience Requirements:
- Current Journey Person's Cabinetmaker's or Millworker’s Certificate OR
- Certificate of Apprenticeship, Cabinetmaker/Carpentry/Joinery OR
- 4+ years of experience as a Cabinetmaker, preferably in a commercial environment.
- Proficiency in interpreting shop and architectural drawings
- Strong knowledge and proficiency with shop practices, procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, quality control, and safety equipment.
- Solid surface experience an asset.
- Strong work ethic, with a dedication to quality craftsmanship
- Strong knowledge of safe working methods and practices, and follows them
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills
- Valid BC Drivers License and reliable transportation

- Day shift, Monday to Friday
- Compressed work schedule with every 2nd Friday off, as structured below.
- Week 1 – Monday to Thursday from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (44 hours);
- Week 2 – Monday to Thursday from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with Friday off (36 hours), allowing employees a three-day weekend every other week.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
