Position Title: Welder (Fly-in/Fly-out)
Salary Range: $60/hr plus OT after 8 hours per day
We are seeking an experienced Pressure Welder to support our client at an Arctic fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) mine site. This position follows a 21-days-on / 7-days-off rotation. Flights, camp accommodations, meals, and all required PPE are provided by the company. This is a short-term project anticipated to take approximately 31 days to complete. The successful candidate will work an initial 21-day rotation, followed by 7 days off, then return to site to complete the remaining piping installation work, which is expected to take approximately 10 additional days. Earnings will gross $27,700 for the 372 hours of project work.
The successful candidate must have experience performing high-quality pressure welding in an industrial or mining environment and be committed to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
Candidates must be able to pass a medical assessment, criminal background check, drug and alcohol screening, and provide professional references.

Main Accountabilities
- Complete pressure welding, fabrication, repairs, and equipment overhauls on piping systems and mechanical components
- Perform equipment alignments and troubleshoot mechanical failures to minimize downtime
- Participate in new construction, installation, commissioning, and startup of plant equipment as required
- Carry out maintenance on fixed plant equipment including slurry pumps, slurry piping, crushers, scrubber mills, transfer chutes, sizers, conveyors, compressors, and other processing equipment
- Read and interpret welding procedures, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure work is completed to applicable codes and quality standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and welding activities
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and quality requirements while working in a remote Arctic environment
Main Qualifications
- Interprovincial Red Seal Welder certification from a recognized educational institution, with a minimum of five (5) years of industrial or mining experience
- Alberta B-Pressure Certification, Technical Safety BC Pressure Welder Certification, or both
- Must have completed Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) on pressure piping applications within the past six (6) months. This experience must be verifiable and supported by documentation
- Must have successfully welded to a pipe SMAW procedure within the last six (6) months
- Valid Northwest Territories (NWT) Welding Performance Qualification Card
- Demonstrated knowledge of pressure piping systems, welding procedures, and applicable industry codes and standards
- Strong knowledge of industry safe work practices and a proven commitment to workplace safety
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team of skilled tradespeople
- Experience maintaining industrial processing equipment, including feeders, conveyors, crushers, ship loaders, pumps, and related fixed plant equipment, is considered an asset
- Proven safety record and reliable attendance
- Willingness and ability to work a rotational schedule in a remote Arctic environment under challenging weather conditions
