Wage: $21–$24/hr depending on experience
Irene’s Bakery is looking for an organized, detail-oriented leader to take ownership of our afternoon packaging operation, reporting to the General Manager.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys staying busy, solving problems, organizing people, and making sure the job gets done right.
Our Packaging Team Lead is responsible for keeping products flowing smoothly from bakery production into finished packaged goods and customer orders. You will set the pace, organize priorities, support the packaging team, and ensure our products leave the bakery meeting the quality standards our customers expect.
What You’ll Do
Lead the daily packaging shift
- Organize workflow and assign daily priorities
- Keep the team moving efficiently throughout the shift
- Train and support packaging staff
- Ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time
- Help determine staffing needs as workload changes throughout the day
- Organize packaging materials & maintain PARs
Manage packaged inventory
- Maintain freezer inventory organization and rotation
- Ensure products are correctly packaged, labelled, dated, and stored
- Track stock levels and communicate production needs
- Prevent waste through strong inventory practices
Maintain quality and accuracy
- Ensure all packaged products meet Irene’s Bakery standards
- Support accurate fulfillment of customer orders
- Identify issues and communicate solutions
- Maintain clean, safe & organized work areas

Experience in food production, packaging, warehouse operations, inventory management, or team leadership is an asset - but the right attitude, work ethic, and ability to lead are most important.
Qualifications & Assets
· Previous experience in food production, packaging, warehouse operations, inventory control, or team leadership preferred
· Experience leading a small team in a fast-paced environment considered a strong asset, especially a multi-cultural team
· FOODSAFE Level 1 certification considered an asset (training may be provided for the right candidate)
· First Aid certification considered an asset (company-funded certification may be available)
· Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory and production systems
· Strong communication skills and ability to give clear direction
· Comfortable working in a physically active role, including standing, lifting, and moving throughout the shift
