Junior Mechanical BIM Modeller (HVAC & Plumbing)

Location: 630 Superior Dr, Waterloo, ON N2V 2C6

Company: Brenner Mechanical Inc.

Pay: $23.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Are you an early-career modeller looking to build your expertise in HVAC and plumbing systems? At Brenner Mechanical, you’ll have the opportunity to work on real-world construction projects, transforming engineered designs into detailed, buildable 3D Revit models. You’ll collaborate with a hands-on team of professionals and gain exposure to the full project lifecycle—from design coordination through to installation. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is excited to grow into a well-rounded mechanical modelling professional.

Please note, this is not an automotive or manufacturing related position. Only those who show experience with MEP, HVAC and plumbing systems will be considered.

Responsibilities

Work in a collaborative environment with other team members and staff.
Review technical documents for plumbing, heating and HVAC systems.
Gather all necessary project information to generate detailed models of mechanical systems to be installed.
Prepare 3D Revit models for the flow of information from engineered design to project management and field personnel.
Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and maintain profitability.
Understand contractual terms, conditions, and obligations.
Meet deadlines in a timely fashion.
Liaise, consult and communicate with contractors, suppliers and engineers/consultants.
Assist in budget preparation.
Assist with shop drawing review.
Additional duties as determined based on the knowledge and experience of the applicant.

Qualifications

CET graduate or equivalent work experience is preferred.
Understanding and working knowledge of mechanical systems such as plumbing and venting, hot water heating, chilled water, medical gas, compressed air, natural gas and ventilation.
Knowledge of all relevant building codes and TSSA regulations.
Knowledge and understanding of architectural standards, building sciences, construction technologies and practices.
Ability to read and understand construction plans.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
