At Oshawa Community Credit Union, we're a community-focused financial institution seeking a lending professional to lead our lending function.

Working directly with the CEO and leadership team, this role offers the opportunity to help shape strategy, support organizational growth, and make a meaningful impact within the credit union and the community we serve.

OCCU offers exposure across residential, consumer, and commercial lending. This role is ideal for someone looking to expand beyond a specialized function and take on a broader leadership opportunity with greater ownership, visibility, and influence.

What you will own

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll combine your technical expertise, people leadership, and strategic thinking capabilities. As Manager, Lending & Credit, you will:

Lead and develop the lending team, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance leadership.
Own the full lending portfolio, residential, consumer, and commercial.
Make lending decisions through underwriting, approvals, and risk management.
Drive business development through building relationships with members and the community and supporting employees on their business development skills.
Partner with the CEO and leadership team on strategy, pricing, and growth initiatives.
Present insights and reports to senior leadership and the Board of Directors supporting informed decision-making and strategic planning.
Shape the future of lending at OCCU including policies, products, and process improvements.
Act as a trusted advisor to members, identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships through the full range of OCCU products and services.
Ensure the overall health and performance of the lending portfolio, including monitoring delinquencies, trends, and risk exposure.
Lead compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, working closely with audit functions and contributing to continuous improvement.
Contribute to the development and evolution of lending policies, products, and practices to balance growth, risk, and member needs.

Experience in lending (consumer, residential and/or commercial)
Strong underwriting and credit decision-making
Leadership and team development experience
Business development mindset

Comfort in operating in full-scope lending role
